The Metabolic Syndrome and Testosterone
In December 2006, an expert meeting on the topic “Metabolic Syndrome and Testosterone” was held in Vienna. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the current knowledge and the potential future clinical implications of metabolic effects of testosterone. Information from the disciplines of epidemiology, endocrinology, urology, and internal medicine (cardiology and diabetology) was gathered from the invited faculty. Questions concerning validity and value of the standard of knowledge were discussed as well as ways to communicate what is known to a broader medical community to increase awareness and ideally, contribute to benefit men's health.
We are happy to share the faculty’s presentations on this topic with you. Starting with the chairman Dr. Ridwan Shabsigh, we will publish one presentation every month on this page.
